Sheriff’s office investigating report of attempted abduction of boy, 12

Authorities are investigating a report of an attempted abduction of a 12-year-old boy this afternoon in Amelia, according to a St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office news release.
At 2:15 p.m. today, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of an attempted abduction of a 12-year-old boy on Lake Palourde Road in Amelia. Based on the initial investigation into this complaint, the sheriff’s office issued a be on the lookout alert for a dark colored van, unknown model, with dark tinted windows, and a passenger side sliding door, the release stated. The van was possibly carrying two people, according to the release. The passenger is described as wearing a black ski mask and all black clothing including gloves and a long sleeve black shirt. This case remains under investigation at this time.
