Second suspect sought in Bayou Vista burglary
St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are seeking a 24-year-old Bayou Vista man in connection with a March 28 burglary on Delmar Road, according to a news release.
Charles Berger, 24, of the 1200 block of Clements Lane in Bayou Vista, is wanted for simple burglary after breaking through the window of a home on Delmar Avenue in Bayou Vista March 28.
Berger and Caleb Gros, who was arrested Friday, both entered the victim’s home and then fled the residence when the homeowner returned. About $150 in cash was missing from the residence following the incident, the release stated.
Detectives obtained and carried out a search warrant for Gros’ residence on Sun Road and Berger’s residence on Clements Lane. During both searches, detectives located additional evidence linking Gros and Berger to the burglary.
Gros, 17, was located at his residence and charged with simple burglary and on a warrant for drug charges stemming from a previous narcotics investigation.
