Police seek help in burglary case

Police are seeking the public’s help identifying two burglary suspects seen on surveillance footage during an incident where they used a brick to attempt to steal firearms from a residence, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
Police responded to a residential burglary complaint May 26 at a residence located in the 400 block of Seventh Street in Morgan City. The unknown suspects gained entry into a rear door of the residence, armed with a brick, and attempted to remove firearms from the residence, Banks said. The suspects fled the scene as the homeowner returned home, the chief said. Detectives were able to obtain surveillance photographs of the suspects.
The first suspect is described as a black male about 6 feet, 1 inch in height, thin build, dread locks in hair, medium to dark complexion with a tattoo down the right forearm. The second suspect is described as a black male, medium build and short hair, Banks said.
Anyone with information on the identity of these suspects or who can assist detectives with this or any other crime, is asked to contact the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division at 985-380-4605.
