Police say man shot in the head is in ‘guarded’ condition -- updated as police want to talk to man who may have information

A man was listed in guarded condition at the Interim LSU Hospital in New Orleans this morning after being shot in the head Tuesday night on Cherry Street in Morgan City, Morgan City Police Capt. James Blair said.
At 11:32 p.m. Tuesday, police received a complaint of gunshots in the 900 block of Cherry Street, Blair said.
Officers found a male, 27-year-old, James Anthony Kenner of Cherry Street, with a single gunshot wound to the head, he said in a bulletin issued Wednesday afternoon.
The wounded man was transported to LSU Interim Hospital in New Orleans where he is listed in guarded condition, which means his prognosis is uncertain, Blair said.
Police are in the process of trying to identify possible witnesses and suspects, Blair said.
Morgan City police detectives, during the investigation, identified a male subject, Ruben Evans Jr., 26, 5 ft 8 in.,180 lbs. as a person who may have information regarding this shooting, police stated in a bulletin Wednesday afternoon.
Evan’s last known address is Cherry Street in Morgan City, the bulletin stated.
