Patterson water cutoff planned

Water customers should prepare for an early morning cutoff of water Friday.
Steve Bierhorst, Patterson public works director said water supply interruption will occur from midnight Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday for the entire water system in order to tie in a new water line on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The city is replacing a two-inch water line with a new eight-inch line and placing an additional fire hydrant in the 500 block of the road, Bierhorst said in the news release. This is in conjunction with the replacement of the underground sewer line on the same block, he said.
Bierhorst said workers also have to tie in the new water line to the existing water lines where Hickory and Plum streets run into Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
“Please make preparations for the system shut down by using gallon water jugs for drinking water and storing water in your bathtub to use to flush the toilet,” Bierhorst said.
