Morgan City man wanted for terrorizing

Joseph Robertson

A 48-year-old Morgan City man is wanted on one count of terrorizing by Assumption Pairsh Sheriff Mike Waguespack.
The sheriff said in a news release that at about 6:45 a.m. Friday his office received a 911 call from Shelby Gaudet Contractors in Belle Rose.
Witnesses said Joseph Robertson, of 825 Railroad Ave., Morgan City, arrived at the business after having quit days earlier, Waguespack stated.
Robertson asked to speak to a supervisor and told him “I got something for you come see,” Waguespack said.
The supervisor walked out to the vehicle where Robertson asked a female passenger if this is him, the sheriff said. Robertson said, “Hold on, I got something for you” and proceeded to reach near the floorboard under the seat, Waguespack said.
Fearing that he had a gun, the supervisor ran back into the shop area yelling “I think he’s got a gun” to let them know of the possible danger, Waguespack said.
Waguespack said Detective Darren Crochet is the lead investigator and asks anyone with additional information to all the Criminal Investigative Division at 985-526-1627 or Communications Division at 985-369-2912.
