Escaped inmates captured
A report from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office states escaped inmates Christopher Horton and Joshua Folks are in custody.
Two inmates escaped from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville, and parish law enforcement officials are working to apprehend the inmates, according to a news release from St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert
The inmates are identified as Christopher Horton, 28, of Bayou Vista and Joshua Folks, 36, of Franklin.
Horton is described as a white male standing 5 feet, 11 inches tall with blond hair and brown eyes. Folks is described a white male standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall with brown hair and blue eyes.
Horton was in jail for second degree murder and arson among other charges. Folks was jailed for theft and aggravated escape.
Both Horton and Folks should be considered dangerous, Hebert said.
Anyone who sees Horton or Folks should contact the local law enforcement agency. Anyone who may have any information regarding Horton or Vidos or their whereabouts should contact the sheriff’s offices at 985-384-1622 or 337-828-1960.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office has issued a be on the lookout to area departments, the inmates have been listed as escaped with the National Crime Information Center, schools in the area have been notified, and the parish one call system was implemented, the news release stated.
