Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Tyrone F. Thomas, 50, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:33 a.m. today on a Louisiana State Police warrant for insurance fraud.
Officers responded to the area of Brashear Avenue and Seventh Street to locate a person who was involved in a disturbance and had fled the scene from a residence. Officers located the person and identified him as Thomas. Thomas was found to be wanted on a Louisiana State Police Troop C warrant and was jailed.
—David A. Darcey, 20, of Horseshoe Road in Plaquemine, was arrested at 3:35 a.m. today for disturbing the peace intoxicated, resisting an officer and possession of Schedule I marijuana.
Officers received a complaint of a disturbance at Seventh and Greenwood streets and as officers approached the people at that location, a man fled from the scene. Officers captured the man, Darcey, a short distance later and he was identified as the subject attempting to fight with others at that location, Banks said.
Darcey was also found to be in possession of marijuana. He was jailed.
—Eric T. Gaskins, 34, of Friendship Alley in Amelia, was arrested at 9:29 a.m. Wednesday for disturbing the peace.
Gaskins was arrested by officers after they were dispatched to a complaint of a disturbance at an La. 182 motel. Officers arrived and attempted to quiet the disturbance between Gaskins and another person at that location. Gaskins continued to cause a disturbance by yelling profanities and refused to cooperate with police officers, Banks said. He was jailed and released after posting cash bail.
—Tyler J. Aucoin, 25, of Federal Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:56 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear for possession of marijuana.
Aucoin was located on Federal Avenue and jailed on a warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court of Morgan City.
—Leroy J. Bailey, 29, of Belanger Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:53 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to pay fines for no insurance and a warrant for failure to pay restitution/no insurance.
Bailey was located at a Third Street residence and arrested on City Court warrants. He was jailed.
—Daniel J. Ackman Jr., 39, of South Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:41 p.m. Wednesday for appearing intoxicated.
An officer observed a man fall from a bicycle in the area of Front Street and stopped to assist. Ackman had struck a parked car with the bicycle, Banks said. Ackman appeared highly intoxicated and was jailed, the chief said.
—Hodges F. Matthews Jr., 35, of Friendship Alley in Amelia, was arrested at 2 a.m. today for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and possession of Schedule II cocaine.
An officer observed Matthews operating a motor vehicle on U.S. 90 in Morgan City and was aware that the subject was operating with a suspended driver’s license. The officer stopped the vehicle and detained Matthews who was indeed operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
As the officers came into contact with the driver, a strong odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle, Banks said. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located a substance that tested positive as cocaine, Banks said. Matthews was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Tina Leboeuf, 39, of the 3800 block of Mount Street in Berwick, was arrested at 1:31 a.m. today for driving while intoxicated first offense and multiple beam road lighting equipment. Leboeuf was jailed with no bail set.
