St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 36 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrest in east St. Mary Parish:
—Tamra Manning, 32, of the 3400 block of Dalton Street in Baton Rouge, was arrested at 2:15 a.m. today on a warrant from East Baton Rouge Parish for attempted forgery. A deputy conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 90 in the Patterson area made contact with the driver of the vehicle identified as Manning. During the traffic stop, the deputy learned that Manning had an active warrant for her arrest. Manning was jailed with no bail set.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Kedesha N. Scott, 19, of Seventh Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Monday on a Patterson police warrant for criminal damage to property. Scott was transported from St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement to the Morgan City Police Department where she remains.
—Joseph A. Acosta, 22, of Grove Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:43 p.m. Monday on a warrant for reckless operation of a moving vehicle and littering.
Officers investigating a complaint came into contact with Acosta at his residence. Acosta was discovered to be wanted on outstanding warrants for St. Martin Parish authorities and was placed under arrest. He was jailed.
—Robert E. Williams, 19, of Egle Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:09 a.m. today for possession of marijuana first offense and resisting an officer.
An officer observed a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner in the area of Egle Street and stopped the vehicle to investigate. Upon making contact with the driver and passenger, Williams, officers learned that the occupants may be in possession of marijuana, Banks said.
As officers made contact with the passenger, Williams, he was observed to have a cellophane bag tucked in his waistband and was detained. As the officer attempted to retrieve the item, Williams attempted to pull from the officers grasp and had to be physically restrained to recover the evidence, Banks said. He was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Brandon Grant, 31, of the 700 block of Utah Street in Berwick, was arrested at 1:07 p.m. Monday for violation of a protective order. Grant was transferred to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
