A Morgan City man was arrested for second degree battery Monday.
Peter E. Grogan, 35, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested 9:02 a.m. on the warrant issued April 5 for striking a woman and causing injuries that required medical attention, Morgan City Police Chief Mike Banks said. He remained jailed this morning.
In other action, Banks reported the following arrests:
—Anthony J. Harris, 18, of Morgan City, was arrested at 11:25 p.m. Monday for illegal carrying of weapons and on warrants for possession of marijuana, contempt of court-failure to pay probation fee and disturbing the peace.
A patrolling officer located Anthony Harris near the intersection of Headland Street and Railroad Avenue and placed him under arrest on several outstanding warrants. Upon searching Harris, officers located a .380-caliber handgun for which he did not have a valid permit. He remained jailed this morning.
—Nathan D. Chaisson, 24, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:54 p.m. Monday on warrants for failure to pay probation fee and on a probation violation.
Chaisson was located walking on U.S. 90 near Cottonwood Street. He remained jailed this morning.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding 48 complaints in the parish and reported no arrests in east St. Mary Parish.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Michael P. Vice, 20, of the 100 block of Perard Street in Lafayette, was arrested at 4:30 a.m. today for two headlights required, no driver’s license and resisting an officer by failing to comply. Vice was jailed on $517 bail.
