A 34-year-old Morgan City man was jailed after he struck someone in the face and stole $30 from the victim, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said.
—George D. Harvey, 34, of Egle Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:57 p.m. Thursday for simple robbery and simple battery.
Officers were dispatched to a complaint of a person being robbed in the area of Federal Avenue and Egle Street. Officers were advised by the victim that Harvey approached the victim, striking the victim in the side of the face and grabbing $30 from the victim and fleeing, Banks said.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Cody P. Thibodeaux, 23, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:40 p.m. Thursday for aggravated assault and disturbing the peace.
—Demarcus T. Skipper, 19, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:40 p.m. Thursday for disturbing the peace.
Officers were dispatched to a La. 182 apartment complex regarding a disturbance. Officers arrived and learned that Skipper and Thibodeaux had been involved in a verbal altercation which caused a disturbance to others in the area. Thibodeaux armed himself with a large knife during the altercation and made threats against Skipper, Banks said. Both were jailed.
—Jeremie Harrison, 24, of Shady Grove in Patterson, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. today for possession of Schedule I marijuana fifth offense, disturbing the peace and on a Patterson police warrant for criminal damage to property.
—Jalon E. Jenkins, 21, of Yellow Bayou Road in Centerville, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. possession of Schedule I marijuana.
Officers were dispatched to a La. 182 convenience store in regard to a person causing a disturbance. Officers were advised by the complainant that a person had entered the store, began to create a disturbance with the cashier. Harrison was identified as the suspect and also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Patterson Police Department. Harrison and the driver of the vehicle, Jenkins, were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana as well. Both were jailed.
—Kristyn L. Parker, 22, of Susan Court in Morgan City, was arrested at 1 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for a probation violation.
Parker was located at the Morgan City Jail and jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 32 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Desmon Cousin, 37, of the 700 block of Oregon Street in Berwick, was arrested at 12:34 p.m. Thursday for theft more than $500. He was arrested in the 1400 block of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City. The deputy was called to a business in Amelia in reference to a theft of some diesel engine items.
The deputy then went to a local scrap yard and found that some of the same items missing had been sold to the scrap yard.
—Jose Ponce Mencia, 29, of the 100 block of 11th Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:14 p.m. Thursday for theft and resisting an officer. The deputy was dispatched to a local business in reference to an employee having his debit card stolen. He was jailed and released on $2,000 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Danny Aucoin, 40, of Berwick, was arrested at 5:26 p.m. Thursday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids, possession of drug paraphernalia, misuse of toxic vapors, St. Mary Parish warrants for failing to appear for possession of cocaine, proper equipment and windshield required, possession of marijuana, possession of synthetic cannabinoids, abuse of toxic vapors, St. Mary Parish warrants for illegal possession of stolen things more than $500 and theft more than $500 and illegal possession of stolen things less than $500. Aucoin was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Lisa T. Aucoin, 55, of the 100 block of Main Street in Patterson, was arrested at 1:08 a.m. today for two headlights required, no driver’s license and DWI first offense. Aucoin was jailed with no bail set at this time.
