Two people were jailed Wednesday after they traveled from Baton Rouge to Morgan City and attempted to use a forged prescription to obtain Roxicodone, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
—Stella L. Miller, 49, of Baton Rouge, was arrested at 1:19 p.m. Wednesday for attempted false acquisition of Schedule II Roxicodone.
—Willie Coleman, 62, of Baton Rouge, was arrested at 1:19 p.m. Wednesday for attempted false acquisition of a Schedule II Roxicodone.
Officers were dispatched to a Seventh Street pharmacy in regard to a forged prescription. Officers were advised that a male and female came into the pharmacy and attempted to use forged prescriptions to obtain Roxicodone.
As officers were investigating, the suspects returned to the pharmacy and were detained. Coleman and Miller admitted to officers that they traveled from the Baton Rouge area in order to obtain the drug using the forged documents, Banks said. Coleman was also found to possess suspected marijuana. Both were jailed.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Lee P. Pierce, 30, of Maple Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for resisting an officer. Pierce was located in the parking lot of the Morgan City Police Department and jailed.
—Bryan K. Maize, 34, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:36 a.m. Wednesday for resisting an officer, on a warrant for attempted unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling, a warrant for failure to pay a fine for littering and a warrant for failure to pay restitution for contempt of court.
Officers traveled to the Brownell Homes area to locate Maize, who was wanted on warrants stemming from a February incident in which Maize was accused of attempting to enter a residence. Maize was also wanted on two other warrants for the City Court of Morgan City.
Officers went to a Cardinal Street residence and attempted to locate Maize. He made an attempt to escape through a bedroom window, Banks said. Officers pursued Maize, captured him and he was jailed.
—Bennie A. Charles, 28, of Arizona Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to pay a probation fee and a warrant for probation violation. An officer located Charles at the intersection of Headland Street and Railroad Avenue. Charles was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 28 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests related to east St. Mary Parish:
—Christopher Winston, 38, homeless, was arrested at 1:13 a.m. today at a truck stop in Bayou Vista, for disturbing the peace intoxicated, resisting and officer by giving false information, public intimidation and misrepresentation during booking.
Deputies were dispatched to the truck stop in reference to a male on the side of the highway falling down and acting in a suspicious manner. Deputies arrived and saw the suspect run inside the truck stop. He appeared to be intoxicated and was refusing to provide identification and was incoherent in talking to the deputies. He was jailed with bail set at $2,500.
—Jason Todd, 41, of the 300 block of Elsa Drive in Avondale, was arrested at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday for entry after being forbidden, and warrants from Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s office for traffic offenses.
Deputies were called to a motel in the 100 block of Cajun Way Lane in Amelia, where a person was at a customer’s room and refused to leave when told to do so. Deputies arrived and ordered Todd to leave and he still refused. He was jailed with bail set at $500 for the entry after being forbidden charge. No bail is set on the warrants.
—Chad Campbell, 44, of the 100 block of David Street in Pierre Part, was arrested at 11:04 p.m. Wednesday for simple criminal damage to property. Campbell was arrested at Lake End Park. Deputies were called to a business in Bayou Vista where the manager reported that Campbell had cut the chain to the bikes in front the store resulting in said charge. Campbell was later located and issued a summons to appear in court June 12.
—Carl Williams, 30, of the 100 block of Beau Lane in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of Main Street in Franklin, on a warrant for failure to appear in court for revocation. He was jailed with no bail set.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
