Claiborne Fabre Jr.
A 26-year-old Bayou L’Ourse man was jailed Tuesday after narcotics detectives found him in Bayou Vista with counterfeit crystal meth and ecstasy pills that he intended to sell, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Claiborne Fabre Jr., 26, of the 100 block of Legnon Court in Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday for possession of counterfeit controlled dangerous substances with intent to distribute and on a warrant from Morgan City Police for failure to appear for traffic violations. Sheriff’s office narcotics detectives came into contact with Fabre at a business in Bayou Vista.
Detectives knew that Fabre held an active warrant for arrest through the Morgan City Police Department. Detectives advised Fabre of the warrant. During a search of Fabre, detectives found several cellophane bags of counterfeit crystal methamphetamine and several bags of counterfeit MDMA, or ecstasy pills, the sheriff said. Detectives learned during the investigation that Fabre intended on selling the counterfeit drugs, Hebert said.
The substances were tested and came back negative for both crystal meth and ecstasy pills, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Traci Landry said. Fabre was jailed with no bail set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 47 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Darryl Grogan, 51, of the 200 block of Williams Street in Patterson, was arrested at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of distribution of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Narcotics detectives patrolling the Morgan City area observed Grogan walking on Federal Avenue.
Detectives knew Grogan to be wanted on the active warrants, Hebert said. Grogan was jailed with no bail set.
—Jarell Thomas, 22, of the 1400 block of Live Oak Street in Patterson, was arrested at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Thomas was released on a summons to appear in court Oct. 13.
—Glenn L. Rochel Jr., 31, of the 100 block of Laura Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of simple assault and telephone harassment. Rochel turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville and was released on $2,000 bail.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Frank Rock, 26, of Morgan City, was arrested at 8:41 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for simple battery and criminal damage to property more than $500.
Police were dispatched to the 1700 Block of Federal Avenue for a disturbance. Officers spoke to the complainant and they advised that Rock who was intoxicated became enraged and began to destroy items in the residence, Banks said. Officers noticed that there was damage to an entertainment center along with a television, Banks said. Rock was jailed.
—Bradley Druihlet, 27, of Morgan City, was arrested at 3:26 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear for arraignment for driving under suspension. Druihlet was located in the City Court Building and jailed.
—Antonio Giandelone, 26, of Lafayette, was arrested at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for a probation violation.
Giandelone was located in the City Court Building and arrested on the outstanding warrant. He was jailed.
—Thomas Fant, 32, of Rayne, was arrested at 7:17 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear for arraignment in Lafayette. Police were dispatched to a motel in reference to a person wanting to retrieve property. Fant was jailed.
—Robert Leonard, 67, of Morgan City, was arrested at 12:15 a.m. today for disturbing the peace intoxicated.
Police were dispatched to the area of Fifth and Freret streets in regard to a disturbance. Officers observed a man lying on the ground. Upon speaking to witnesses it was found that Leonard was causing a disturbance with other subjects in the area. Leonard was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Harold Sheets, 30, of Third Street in Berwick, was arrested at 3:33 a.m. today on a warrant for simple burglary. Sheets is awaiting bail to be set.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrest:
—Clauderious Darby, 25, of Grace Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday for no driver’s license and no proof of insurance. Darby was released on $500 bail.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
