Arrest made in Bayou Vista burglary

A 24-year-old Bayou L’Ourse man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a Monday burglary in Bayou Vista, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Jamie Scarbrough Jr., 24, of Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 5:39 p.m. on a warrant for aggravated burglary and resisting an officer by flight. St. Mary Parish sheriff’s detectives investigating a residential burglary in the 1200 block of Delmar Road in Bayou Vista identified Scarbrough as the suspect who was seen exiting a window of the home, Hebert said.
Scarbrough came to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in reference to the investigation and was subsequently taken into custody, Hebert said.
The burglary occurred at about 4:30 p.m. Monday when the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s office responded to a call of a burglary in progress in the 1200 block of Delmar Road. The responding deputy observed the suspect exiting a window. The suspect then fled on foot.
Scarbrough was jailed with no bail set.
