Colts, Chiefs win in AFL action
The Colts edged the Chiefs, while the Vikings eased past the Saints in Atchafalaya Football League action Saturday.
The Colts came away with a 26-20 win, while the Vikings were victorious, 30-7.
In the Colts’ win, Drexel Boutte ran for 162 yards, including touchdown runs of 25 and 8 yards, while Reggie Talver rushed for 70 yards and scored on 4- and 7-yard runs.
On defense, Nylan Boutte, Samuel Boutte, Don Quan Tillman, Javin Turner, Darrius Lucas and Khyre Willis all provided solid play for the Colts.
For the Chiefs, Joshua Jones rushed for 153 yards, including an 8-yard touchdown, while Colin Louviere ran for 73 yards with touchdown runs of 3 and 6 yards.
Other Chiefs contributors included Ronnie Hatcher, kickoff returns of 25 and 35 yards, and Trey Derouen, a two-point point after attempt.
Chiefs providing solid defense included Derouen, John Charles Hebert, Hatcher, Kim Crappell, Tyler Nugier and Logan Booty.
In the Vikings’ win, Reid Wiley rushed for 62 yards, including touchdowns of 40 and 10 yards, while Cade Thibodeaux ran for 60 yards, including a 14-yard score.
Other Vikings’ standouts included Barrett Hover, who rushed for 45 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown; Devin LeBlanc, who rushed for 39 yards; and Mitch Fredrick, who kicked two PATS for four points.
On defense, Grayson Wells and Lucas Hatch, who each recovered a fumble, and Jake Srigley all provided solid play.
For the Saints, Drake Angeron rushed for 22 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown, while Morris Charles added 31 yards and a PAT.
Other top Saints performers included Dede Gant, 43 yards rushing, and Leon Williams, a 32-yard kickoff return.
Jean Pat Dupuy had an interception on defense.
