City of Franklin introduces ‘Movies in the Park’ series
The City of Franklin will host a “Movies in the Park Summer Movie Series” on July 4, July 20 and August 3.
All movies are to be shown outside and are free to the public.
The first movie will be shown at Broussard-Harris Park on July 4. The park will open at 7:15 p.m. and the movie will begin at dusk.
The second movie will be shown at Caffery Park on July 20, and the last movie in the series will be shown on August 3 at Broussard-Harris Park.
The series will feature movies that are suitable for the whole family. Movie goers are allowed to bring blankets and chairs to sit on; however, no ice chests or alcohol will be allowed in the parks.
Additionally, the City of Franklin is looking for nine organizations to serve as vendors for the movie series—three different vendors for each event. The vendors will not be repeated during the summer movie series. The vendors will be chosen on a first-come-first-served basis. Vendors are needed to sell drinks, popcorn or chips, and candy. Each vendor will be assigned one of these items for one of the dates in the series.
“I hope that people will come out and enjoy the movies with their family and friends,” Mayor Harris said. “Stay tuned because the movies that will be shown will be announced soon!”
