CHRISTOPHER ANDREW LOCKETT SR.

A home going celebration will be held for Christopher Andrew “Chopper” Lockett Sr., 29, at 1 p.m., Friday February 8, 2013 at First Church of God In Christ with Superintendent Ezickel Perro, officiating.

He will await the resurrection at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Jeanerette, Louisiana.

A gathering of family and friends will begin Friday at the funeral home from 7 a.m. until 8:30 a.m., visitation then resumes at First Church of God In Christ in Jeanerette, at 9 a.m. until time of funeral service.

A native and resident of Glencoe, La., he passed at 4:25 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2013 at his residence.

He was a 2001 Graduate of West Saint Mary High School. He was formerly employed at Cypress Bayou Casino for seven years and was presently working at Home Furniture in New Iberia, Louisiana.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Edward Lockett of Glencoe; one son, Christopher Andrew Lockett Jr. of Jeanerette; one daughter, MyTianna Lockett of Jeanerette; four brothers, Craig Lockett of Glencoe, John A. Lockett (Annetta) of Baldwin, Roy A. Lockett (Tonya) of New Iberia and Earl Bowie of Glencoe; three sisters, Rosalyn Lockett and Jennifer L. Lockett, both of New Iberia, and Tricia Bowie of Glencoe; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mercedes Perro Lockett; one brother, Kim Roy Lockett; maternal grandparents, Rev. Ernest Perro and Mary Levy Perro; paternal grandparents, Roland Lockett Sr. and Elvina Dorsey Lockett; three uncles, Wilfred Perro, Chester Perro and Roland Lockett Jr.; three aunts, Romanell Dapremont, Willie Lee Perro and Betty Perro; and one great aunt, Lillian Richardson.

Active pallbearers will be Terrell Perro, Alvin Dorsey, Benjamin Dorsey Jr., Rodney Landry, Joseph Dorsey, Morrison Broussard and James Dorsey.

Honorary pallbearers will be John A. Lockett, Roy A. Lockett, Craig Lockett, Barry Perro, Earl Bowie, Walter Batiste Jr., Turnell Broussard and Danielle Dorsey.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fletcher Funeral Home, 609 West Admiral Doyle Drive, New Iberia, Louisiana 70560.
