Charles “Bill” Verdun Jr., 84, a resident and native of Verdunville, died Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 1:35 a.m., at his residence.

Visitation will be Friday, August 16, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Verdunville, from 10:00 a.m. until funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Bill served as sergeant in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-1957 and was honorably discharged. In his spare time, he was a substitute school bus driver.

Charles leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Marie Bourgeois Verdun of Verdunville; one son, Rodney Verdun and his wife, Denise, of Franklin; one brother, Hayward Verdun Sr. and his wife, Patricia, of Verdunville; one sister, Irma V. Thomas of Yeadon, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren; his step granddaughter; and a host of relatives and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a son, his daughter, his granddaughter, two brothers and five sisters.
