Central Catholic wins over Hanson Tigers
Pitcher Bryson Barbier hurled the Central Catholic Eagles to a 10-4 District 8-A victory over the Hanson Memorial Tigers Thursday at the Amar Lancon Field.
Barbier went the distance, tossing seven complete innings, allowing four runs on 11 hits with nine strikeouts three walks.
Hanson’s Payton Kellebrew suffered the loss after working 5 and 1/3 frames, giving up nine runs (five earned) on 10 hits with five strikeouts and three walks. Cameron Stovall appeared in relief of Kellebrew, going 1 and 2.3 frames, surrendering one run on two hits with no strikeouts and no walks.
Leading hitters for the Hanson Tigers were: Drake Businelle, 3 for 4, 2 RBI, run; Cameron Stovall, 3 for 4, RBI; Garrett Burns, 1 for 3, run; Bo Barrilleaux, 1 for 3, run; Payton Kellebrew, 1 for 2 and Jacob Hebert, 1 for 2, run.
Leading hitters for Central Catholic included: Josh Singleton, 3 for 3, 3 runs; Austin Autin, 2 for 5, 2 runs, 2 RBI; Barron Courtney, 2 for 4 and Samuel Guarisco, 3 for 4, run, 4 RBI.
Hanson (1-4 in district action) will play host to St. Martinville on Saturday at 2 p.m. in non-district action.
