Centerville Bulldogs roll by Madison Prep

CENTERVILLE _ The Centerville Bulldogs beat the Madison Prep Chargers 11-1 in the District 8-B opener in a game called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

Centerville Christian Arias started on the hill and gave up one run (none earned) on three hits with three strikeouts and three walks. Peyton Landry pitched the remaining 1 and 2/3 innings, not allowing a hit nor a run and no walks while fanning three.

Centerville built up a 3-0 lead in the first frame before adding one more in the second, two additional runs in the third and five insurance runs to earn the win by an 11-1 margin.

Leading hitters for Centerville were: Peyton Landry, 3 for 4, double, 2 RBI; Cole Candella, 1 for 3, double, RBI; Courtland Pogue, 1 for 3, 2 RBI; Logan Broussard, 1 for 3, RBI, Zaccheaus Jackson, 0-1, RBI; Chance Landry, 1 for 4 and Christian Arias, 1 for 4.

Centerville (1-0 in District 8-B) will travel to play at Holden on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in league play.
