Centerville Bulldogs drop road games
The Centerville Bulldogs came up on the short end of a pair of one-run road contest losses last week.
On Saturday, Episcopal School of Acadiana of Cade pulled out an 8-7 win over the Centerville Bulldogs in eight innings.
Centerville starter Peyton Landry turned in a clutch performance in a no-decision. Landry went seven complete innings, striking out 14 batters, yielding three runs (one earned) on four hits with three walks. Chance Landry appeared in relief of Peyton Landry and surrendered three runs (2 earned) on two hits with one walk.
Leading hitters for the Bulldogs were: Chance Landry, 2 for 3, double; 3 RBI; Christian Arias, 2 for 3; Peyton Landry, 1 for 2 and Courtland Pogue, 3 runs.
On Thursday, the Centerville Bulldogs dropped a 5-4 decision to Highland Baptist in New Iberia.
Cameron Pogue suffered the mound loss after working 5 and 1/3 frames, giving up five runs (4 earned) on seven hits with six strikeouts and three walks. Chance Landry pitched the final two-thirds, not allowing a run while striking out one and walking two.
Cole Candella and Courtland Pogue recorded RBIs for the Bulldogs.
