CCHS and MCHS win matches
Central Catholic defeated Terrebonne at home Thursday 3-0 (25-22, 25-9, 25-10).
Meo Knight and Brie Hill led the Lady Eagles (5-4) as Knight recorded 10 kills, an assist and four digs, while Hill contributed six kills, an ace, a dig and four solo blocks. Other Lady Eagle contributors included Olivia Crawford, an assist, two aces and 11 digs; Gee Garrett, six kills, a dig and a solo block; Celine Flores, five kills, two aces and four digs; Caroline Byrne, 23 assists and four digs; and Brittany Longman, a kill, four aces and two digs.
The Lady Eagles will return to action Friday when they participate in the Catholic League Tournament.
Morgan City beats Delcambre
in three games
Morgan City defeated Delcambre 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-15) in non-district play Tuesday at home.
Katelyn Adams led the squad with an ace, seven kills, a block, 12 assists and eight digs, while Kloé Liner added three kills, 13 digs and an ace. Other MCHS contributors included Jaiveianna Jones, seven kills and six digs; Savannah Loupe, eight digs, four aces and an assist; and Brandi Ingram, six digs.
In junior varsity action, Morgan City fell 25-21, 25-15.
Tyler Hebert led Morgan City with four aces, four kills, six digs and an assist, while Taylor Prince recorded two kills, seven digs and two assists. Other Lady Tigers’ contributors included Brandi Ingram, an ace, two kills, a block and six digs; LeeAnne Price, an ace and 10 digs; and Layne Reynaud, a kill, a dig and seven assists.
In freshman action, the Lady Tigers were victorious, 25-19, 20-25, 15-11.
The Lady Tigers (6-6) will return to action today when they open play in its Lady Tiger Classic. Morgan City will face Thibodaux at 6 p.m. in the MultiPurpose building.
