CCHS advances to regionals
PATTERSON — Central Catholic finished as district runner-up at the Division 4, District 4 Golf Tournament Thursday at Atchafalaya at Idlewild.
The Eagles recorded a team score of 368 to advance its entire team to regionals.
“It was one of our best performances this season,” Central Catholic coach Joey Galloway said.
Metairie Park Country Day fired a team total of 359 to take the district championship and also advance its entire team.
Other teams advancing included third-place Hanson, who recorded a team total of 377, and fourth-place Ascension Catholic with a 386.
Ascension Catholic’s Tucker Landry shot a 79 for the lowest score of the day, while Central Catholic’s Chaz Galloway had the second-lowest individual score with an 84.
Other Central Catholic scorers included C.J. Laiche, a 91; Bennett Duffy, a 93; and Nick Bolner and Miles Scarborough, each with 100.
“Chaz Galloway played strong and continues to be the leader of our team,” Joey Galloway said. “C.J. Laiche had an outstanding day. Bennett Duffy continues to be steady as a rock as my third man.”
Central Catholic continued play at regionals today at LSU in Baton Rouge.
