Cayce Street fire

Franklin Fire Department personnel responded to a residential fire at 1035 Cayce Street Tuesday at about 4 p.m. Upon arrival firefighters found heavy smoke and fire in about half of the home. They used foam to bring the fire under control by about 4:34 p.m. The cause was determined to be electrical. Damage was estimated at $75,000 due to heavy smoke and fire damage. The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the family. Assistance was given by Baldwin, Centerville, Chitimacha and District 11 fire departments with 28 firefighters on the scene.
