CASA seeks volunteers
Court Appointed Special Advocate of the 16th Judicial District Court is in need of volunteers to help foster children in St. Mary Parish.
CASA will hold a volunteer training orientation May 24 to 29.
CASA volunteers are advocates appointed by a judge to research the situation of a child in foster care so the court can use the information to make more informed decisions about a child’s life. CASA volunteers investigate the facts of the case, facilitate communication, monitor court orders and advocate for the best interest of the child.
CASA volunteers serve as mentor and confidant during the time a child is in foster care.
Call 337-359-9016 to volunteer or for more information.
