Carl Lee Palmature Sr.

Carl Lee Palmature Sr., a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at his residence surrounded by his beloved wife of over 51 years and his children.
He was a devoted husband, father and paw-paw who loved his family dearly. He loved life and loved being out in the bayous in which he grew up. He will be missed by all the people whose lives he touched during his lifetime.
Carl is survived by his wife, Marie D. Palmature of Morgan City; two sons, Carl L. Palmature Jr. and wife Rhonda of Patterson and Troy Palmature and companion Christy Angeron of Morgan City; two daughters, Cheryl P. Shilling and husband Lee of Morgan City and Inez P. Mann and husband Dennis of Jackson, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Johnny, Carl, Daniel, Ryan, Kristin, Kayla, Michael and Tyler; one step-grandchild, Tara Kennedy; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Palmature of Morgan City and Lonzo Palmature of Houston; one sister, Jearnell Buteaux of Patterson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo Palmature and Rita Breaux; stepfather, Ridley Breaux; one great-grandchild; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation was held today from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m.
Carl was laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following the service.
