Canoe Adventure slots still open

The Friends of Bayou Teche National Wildlife Refuge are hosting a Canoe Adventure on April 21 in conjunction with the Bayou Teche Black Bear Festival in Franklin. Most guests who have toured the refuge have been from out of state or out of the parish. Local residents are invited to see the beauty of their own backyard. Join the Friends group for a guided, easy-pace paddle that is suited for beginners or families. A pre-registration fee of $15 per canoe is required and must be received by April 18. Only two adults and one child are allowed per canoe. All children must be ages 6 and up and accompanied by an adult to participate. For an entry form or for more information, visit online at www.bayoutechebearfest.org, e-mail btrfriends@yahoo.com or call Donovan at 923-9718. Canoe availability is limited.
