NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Gamblers lost $202.2 million to Louisiana casinos in December, down 4.4 percent from a year earlier.
Lake Charles was the only market to show an increase, and its winnings rose only 1.6 percent, according to figures compiled by state police and released Thursday by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board
The New Orleans market showed a drop of 16 percent for the month as riverboats and the Harrah’s casino in downtown New Orleans took in $48.7 million.
The $11.9 million take at L’Auberge Baton Rouge was 8.3 above the December 2012 total. In Lake Charles, L’Auberge took in $33.7 million, up 5.1 percent.
