Bessie Mae Colar, 74, a resident of Four Corners and a native of Ashton, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at 11:23 p.m., at Iberia Acute Care in New Iberia.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 30, at Macedonia Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until funeral at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Bessie leaves to cherish her memory eight sons, Troy Colar, Briant Colar, Lionel Colar, Lloyd Colar, Randolph Colar, Ronald Colar and Gerald Colar, all of Four Corners, and Mannie Colar of Baldwin; three daughters, Gevetta Colar of Jeanerette, Jacqueline Colar Green and Berva Colar, both of New Iberia; three brothers, Earl Lewis and Larry Lewis, both of Four Corners, and Clifford Marsh of Ashton; five sisters, Delores Lewis and Earline Lewis, both of Four Corners, Hester Arceneaux of Ashton, Tina Moore and Ida Mae Marsh, both of Beaumont, Texas; 32 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, two brothers and a sister.
