Benefits set for FFD’s Boudreaux
Two events have been slated to benefit Louis Boudreaux of the local Franklin Fire Department.
According to a statement recently by Fire Chief Chuck Bourgeois, “Approximately 4 months ago, Louis Boudreaux had an unfortunate accident which, along with multiple complications, ultimately led to the amputation of his left leg on June 18, 2012.
Louis’ wife, Dianne, has been doing everything that she can in their given situation to take care of their son, Ryan, while also driving back and forth to be with Louis in the hospital. The financial strain of medical bills, household bills, and the gas to be able to go back and forth from out of town to be with Louis continues to mount.”
On Saturday, Aug. 4, the volunteer fire department will sponsor a duathlon/2- mile fun run to assist Boudreaux.
It begins at 7:30 a.m. at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse. Registration is $35 for the duathlon and $20 for the fun run.
All bicycles will be accepted. Contestants will be grouped into traditional and non-traditional categories by bicycle type, and winners will be awarded in each category.
Registration can be made online at :
Registration forms can also be obtained from the Franklin Fire Department. Call Brandi Lege at (985) 519-2830 for more information.

It will feature live entertainment by Johnny Chauvin and Mojo, Flashback and Louis Boudreaux’s brother Clay Boudreaux, as well as the 5 O’Clock Shadows, DJ and Fizzal.
Food and drinks will be sold. There will be a silent auction, a “50/50” raffle, door prizes, kids’ fun jumps and more.
