Bayou Vista teen accused in stabbing

BAYOU VISTA, La. -- A Bayou Vista man was arrested Wednesday by St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputies after a man was stabbed in the torso area, according to Sheriff Mark Hebert.

Layne Michael Aucoin, 19, of Arlington Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:47 p.m. Wednesday for aggravated second degree battery.

Deputies responded to a 911 call of a stabbing on Arlington Road. A 32-year-old man was transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center for treatment of an apparent stab wound, Hebert stated.

Detectives determined that while visiting the residence, Aucoin produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the torso area, Hebert stated.

Aucoin was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
