MCHS to retire Alfred's jersey

Morgan City High School will retire the baseball jersey of former player, coach and school principal Kenny Alfred prior to the Tigers District 7-4A contest against Vandebilt Catholic. In addition to playing at Morgan City, Alfred also excelled at Nicholls State University and played for the Atlanta Braves organization, advancing to Double A ball. 'Jacks defeat Southern Lab

The Patterson High School Lumberjacks defeated Southern Lab, 4-1, Monday in a game played at Southern University.

CCHS defeats Vermilion Catholic, 5-1

Central Catholic remained perfect in District 7-1A play with a 5-1 victory against Vermilion Catholic in a battle of top 10 teams in Class 1A.

Berwick tops Patterson, 4-2

The Berwick Panthers scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth and made it stand as they topped Patterson, 4-2, in District 8-3A action in Berwick Tuesday.
