Barras-Rock exchange nuptials in Bayou Vista
Lelia Barras and Michael James Adams Rock were united in matrimony Jan. 28 during a 4 p.m. double-ring ceremony at the Bayou Vista Community Center. Justice of the Peace Shelia Landry officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Larry and Darlene Barras of Patterson. The groom is the son of Michael Rock of Berwick and Anita Adams Womack of Richmond, Texas.
Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white gown designed with a draped bodice with gathers at the waistline. Small rows of beads were scattered throughout. Taffeta-covered beads lined the back of the gown leading down the length of the train. She wore flip-flops with her name on them, a gift from her mother.
Gracing her head was a tiara.
She carried a nosegay of white roses featuring stems wrapped with a piece of her mother’s wedding gown.
Matron of honor was Charis Rock Yoder, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Ashlynne Felterman and Cheyenne Nicole Carmello.
Bridal attendants wore black dresses with flip-flops with their names on them, gifts from the bride and her mother.
They each carried a bouquet of white roses with stems wrapped with black ribbon.
Flower girl was Annebelle Yoder, niece of the groom.
Ringbearer was Nehemiah Yoder, nephew of the groom.
Corey Jones served as best man. Groomsmen were Chris Bridge and Chad White.
Ushering guests was Nikon Leger, cousin of the bride.
A reception immediately followed.
Decorations followed a black and white theme.
The bride’s cake was a five-tiered confection in black and white.
The groom’s cake depicted a guitar.
Helping with hospitalities were Lesley Chauvin, Latora Madise, and Marlene Ables, godmother of the bride.
Prenuptial parties included a bridal shower hosted by the bride’s mother.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted at Shoney’s by the parents of the bride.
The newlyweds reside in Bayou Vista.
