Attractions added at Best of the Bayou Festival
HOUMA, La. (AP) — Organizers say they hope improvements in attractions at the upcoming Best of the Bayou Festival will make the celebration a success.
Festival spokeswoman Ashley Gravois tells The Courier (http://bit.ly/14GmCpsthat ) that new attractions include a kids' corner, toy alligator race and cocktail contest.
Best of the Bayou will be held Sept. 28-29 in downtown Houma. The festival is in its second year and draws upon a grant from BP PLC intended to revive tourism in areas affected by the company's 2010 oil spill in the Gulf Of Mexico.
The festival includes 21 musical acts on two stages, including headliners Robert Randolph and the Family Band, an American funk and soul group that is now touring Europe.
