Art, dance registration ends May 1
Registration for the Bayou Beaux Arts and Dance Program, will end May 1 at 5 p.m. at the Office of Community Development on the second floor of City Hall in Franklin.
There will be a waiting list for spots. A class will be considered closed when the open and the waiting list spots are filled. Those on the waiting list will be contacted if there is a change in a class’s enrollment.
Jazz, tap and Broadway dance classes for beginner, beginner/intermediate, intermediate and advanced students ages 7-18 will be held at the Broussard-Harris Recreation Center. Classes will be taught by LaDaisha Bowles on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning June 8 and ending Aug. 3. A maximum of 15 students will be allowed in each class level.
Fine arts classes will be held at the Franklin Recreation Center for young people ages 13-18. Jon Eenigenburg’s drawing class will be July 14, 21 and 28 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Catherine Siracusa will teach encaustics from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. July 14, 21 and 28. Acrylics will be taught by Laura Zuniga from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. July 26-27 and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. July 28. A maximum of seven students will be allowed in each fine arts class.
The Bayou Beaux Arts and Dance Program will host its dance performance and art show on Aug. 4 at 5 p.m. at Broussard-Harris.
