Another successful planting day
The St. Mary Soil and Water Conservation District and the USDA-NRCS held its annual coastal planting day last Friday near East Cote Blanche Bay. The multi-year vegetation program is in full swing and progress is easily recognizable. The St. Mary SWCD has been involved in the coastal re-vegetation project for over 15 years. The past few years’ sites are thriving and reducing the wave energy that reaches shore, helping to prevent further shoreline erosion. Pictured above are the 2,600 California Bulrush grasses that were planted.
