Amelia woman arrested after crash

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:

—Nicole G. Richard, 38, of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, was arrested at 8:35 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving under suspension. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle involved in a single vehicle crash. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Richard, and learned of the warrant for her arrest. Richard was taken to the parish jail and held. She was released on a $1,500 bail.

—Jamie Butler, 31, of O Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:10 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Butler at Holiday Inn in Morgan City on the warrant. Butler was released on a summons to appear in court April 17.

—Luis Medina Rojas, 26, of Terrebonne Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:40 p.m. Saturday for license plate lights required and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle without license plate lights on Barrow Street and conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation Medina stated that he did not have a driver’s license and was unable to produce any form of valid identification. Medina was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.

—Israel Becerra, 26, of Perry Avenue in Houma, was arrested at 1:18 a.m. Sunday for speeding and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Duhon Road and conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation Becerra stated that he did not have a driver’s license and was unable to produce any form of valid identification. Becerra was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail has been set.

—Isaac Matthew Martinez, 31, of Martin Luther King Boulevard in Baldwin, was arrested at 10:56 a.m. Sunday on a Morgan City Police Department on a warrant for failure to appear for disturbing the peace. A detective conducting an investigation into a separate complaint made contact with Martinez and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Martinez was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail has been set..

—Tanisha Lashan Wilkerson, 37, of Grace Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:18 p.m. on Sunday for theft and on warrants for issuing worthless checks. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at Walmart in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival the deputy learned from store security that Wilkerson was observed placing items in her purse and attempting to leave the store without paying for the items. During the investigation the deputy also learned that Wilkerson was wanted on warrants. She was taken to the parish jail and held. Her bail is set at $2,000.

Patterson police arrested the following:

—Cesar Coreda Martinez, 38, of Patterson, was arrested at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday for no driver’s license and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. Martinez paid a fine and was released.

—JaVontrae Jordan, 19, of Muggah Street in Patterson, was arrested at 7:23 p.m. Tuesday for simple battery (domestic). Jordan was released on bail.

—Sylvester Carbins, 58, of Como Street in Patterson, was arrested Wednesday for marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia. Carbins was taken to the Law Enforcement Center in Centreville.

—Irvin Ramos, 22, of Shady Grove in Patterson, was arrested at 11:41 p.m. Friday for DWI second offense and loud music. He is still being held.

—A juvenile, 16, was arrested Friday for disturbing the peace by fighting. The juvenile was released to the parents.

—Tradasha Brooks, 17, of Taft Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:05 a.m. Friday for disturbing the peace by fighting. Brooks paid a fine and was released.

—Courtney Wynn, of Main Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:06 a.m. Monday for simple battery (domestic). Wynn is still being held. No bail has been set.

Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:

—Dea’Zhone Baker, 18, of Ninth Street in Franklin, was arrested Sunday at 11:46 a.m. for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and disturbing the peace fighting. Baker is still being held. No bail has been set.

—A juvenile was arrested for disturbing the peace fighting and resisting arrest. The juvenile was released to the parents.
