Alleged attempted murderer arrested by parish deputies
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Franklin man who is alleged to have attempted to kill his parents, according to Sheriff Mark Hebert:
Eric J. Vining, 36, of Hunting Road, Ricohoc, was arrested at home at 2:01 p.m. Monday for two counts of attempted aggravated second degree murder.
A deputy responded to a hang-up call from the home. When deputies arrived they found the victims, Vining’s mother and father, injured. Both had been cut on the throat. Both were transported to Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Following an investigation, Vining was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond has yet been set.
The Patterson Police Department made one arrest overnight, according to Chief Patrick M. LaSalle:
—Tommy Vidos, 36, of Levee Road, Morgan City, was arrested on Mike Drive at 5:01 p.m. Monday for simple domestic violence and a warrant from St. Mary Parish. Remains incarcerated awaiting bond hearing.
The Morgan City Police Department reported one arrest overnight, according to Chief Marc Folse:
—Jalen Anthony Walker, 20, of Second Street, Morgan City, arrested at 9:42 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Marshall Street and Federal Avenue for possession of marijuana second offense, stop sign violation, and general speed law violations. He was seen leaving Shannon Homes at a high rate of speed and accelerating on Sixth Street. Posted a $5,500 bond and released.
