Area artists are invited to enter the show, which runs concurrently with the 76th annual Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival and extends until Friday, Sept. 16.
Registration will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the gallery. Categories include oils, watercolor, acrylics, pastels, mixed media and all other. For photography, categories are black and white, color and all other photography.
The event is judged by age group as well: adults, teens ages 13-17 years, children 7-12 years, and children ages 2-6 years.
Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners in each category. Honorable mention and merit awards also will be presented. All artwork must be for sale in the adult division.
Participating artists are invited to an Artists Reception slated for Thursday, Sept. 1, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Photographs of all winners will be taken, starting at 5:30 p.m., during which child and teen pictures will be taken first.
Individuals or businesses may participate in the Purchase Award Program by making a contribution in the amount of $50 and up.
