The Advocate, Baton Rouge, La., on Interns' run greets world:

Much has been written about the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision concerning the federal Defense of Marriage Act, but we'd like to make a small point about how the world found out about the court's decision. The ruling was rushed out, on paper copies, to reporters waiting outside the court building. Summer interns performed the relay in a marathon that one TV network dubbed "the running of the interns."

In short order, of course, news of the ruling went viral on the Internet. But the sight of those young interns rushing out of the Supreme Court, documents in hand, reminded us that even in the digital age, paper continues to have its place.
