Ada G. Aucoin
November 21, 1932 — July 15, 2011
Ada G. Aucoin, 78, a native of Cutoff and a resident of Morgan City, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, at her home.
She was born on Nov. 21, 1932, in Cutoff; the daughter of Edgar and Dorina Matherne Guidry.
Ada enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and pottery work. She also had a love for music and dancing, and enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. She was a great cook and was a jokester.
Ada is survived by a son, Rudolph Aucoin Jr.; one daughter, Barbara Ann Aucoin; three sisters, Wilma G. Cook and husband Charles, Dorina Billiot, and Joyce Billiot. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Heather Anderson, Rudy Aucoin, Dustin Aucoin, and Devin Aucoin; and two great-grandchildren, Jaden Anderson and Jay Shane.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rudolph Aucoin Sr.; one brother, Emile Guidry; and two sisters, Rosemae G. Matherne and Ozema G. Comeaux.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Tuesday. Ada will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
