3 St. Mary Parish Inmates arrested after fight
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Five inmates at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center were arrested at 8:01 a.m. Thursday after an inmate was attacked.
—Therold James, 28, of Teche Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested for aggravated battery.
—Harold Sheets, 29, of Third Street in Berwick, was arrested for simple battery.
—Seth Barnett, of Canton Street in Berwick, was arrested for simple battery.
—Shane Stratton, 22, of General Hodges Street in Morgan City, was arrested for simple battery.
—Zachery Johnson, 27, of Onstead Street in Morgan City, was arrested for simple battery.
A deputy conducted an investigation into a group of inmates attacking another offender. The deputy learned that James and the victim had been arguing when the other inmates began to strike the victim. During the altercation, James repeatedly struck the victim in the head. The inmates were booked and held on the charges. No bail is set.
Deputies who responded to a complaint of a fight at Venus Road and Lambert Lane arrested two people.
—Kevin Paul Simon, 45, of La. 182 in Patterson, was arrested at 10:06 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for criminal trespassing. A deputy located Simon at his residence on the warrant. Simon was taken to the parish jail and held. He was released on a $750 bail.
—Timothy Meredith, 39, of Venus Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 5:01 p.m. Thursday for simple battery and disturbing the peace.
—Paul Annaloro Jr., 42, of Venus Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 5:01 p.m. Thursday for simple battery and disturbing the peace.
Upon arrival, the deputies learned from witnesses that Meredith and Annaloro were involved in an argument when the two began fighting. Both were taken to the parish jail and held. Both were released on a $750 bail.
—Ruth Chatagnier, 33, of Cotton Road in Patterson, was arrested at 11:56 p.m. Thursday for domestic abuse battery.
—Michael Chatagnier, 44, of Cotton Road in Patterson, was arrested at 11:56 p.m. Thursday for domestic abuse battery.
A deputy responded to a complaint of a domestic disturbance at the residence listed above. During the investigation, the deputy learned that the Chatagniers were engaged in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical encounter. During the altercation, both subjects struck the other. Both were taken to the parish jail and held. No bail has been set.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Glenn Blanco reported the following arrest:
—Lucille May Rodriguez, 32, of Franklin Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:55 a.m. Thursday for criminal mischief by filing a false report.
Officers responded to Franklin Street in reference to criminal damage to property. Officers spoke with Rodriguez, who told officers that her ex-boyfriend stabbed one of her tires, the report stated. After obtaining information from the victim, officers left Rodriguez to investigate the matter. Investigating officers were dispatched back to speak with Rodriguez at which time her story changed several times, the report stated. Officers determined that Rodriguez had lied about the incident and filed a false police report. She was arrested and released on $492 bail.
A headline in Thursday’s edition should have reported a juvenile was arrested at Patterson High School. The information in the story was correct.
