2 men accused of using forged prescriptions at Morgan City pharmacy

Two men were arrested Wednesday by Morgan City police after they allegedly attempted to forge a prescription at a drug store, according to Police Chief Travis Crouch.

Marvin Rheams, 58, of Foster Drive in Baton Rouge, was arrested at 1:51 p.m. Wednesday, and charged with two counts of forgery, one count of attempted possession of schedule II Roxicodone, and attempted possession of schedule IV Xanax.

Police received a call from Standard Drugs in Morgan City of a subject attempting to pass a forged prescription. Upon arrival, they located Rheams inside the store. They spoke with the pharmacist who advised that they contacted the doctor, who was located in Jennings, and determined that a prescription had never been issued by their office for Rheams. Rheams was taken to jail and held with no bail set at this time.

Douglas Thompson, 50, of Breckenridge Drive in Baton Rouge, was arrested at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday and charged with two counts of forgery; attempted possession of schedule II Roxicodone, attempted possession of schedule III Lortab, and possession of schedule IV Xanax.

Police received a call from Standard Drugs of a man attempting to pass a forged prescription. Upon arrival, they located Thompson inside the store. Police spoke with the pharmacist who had contacted the doctor in Baton Rouge and determined that a prescription had never been issued for Thompson. Thompson was taken to jail and held with no bail set at this time.
