‘Bayou Storm Rising’
Audiences packed the Teche Theater in Franklin Friday, Saturday and Sunday for Techeland Arts Council’s production of “Bayou Storm Rising.” This second presentation of the group’s No Hitchin’ series was penned by local writers Sue Davis and Roger Stouff and directed by Diane Wiltz. It is based on the real people, places and history of western St. Mary Parish and centers around the approach of a hurricane, mixing humor, romance, drama and intrigue. At top are Larry Deslatte as “Martin” and Melvin Coleman as “John” on the set of the production. Below are Patterson Mayor Rodney Grogan as “Jacob McCall” and Deslatte at the counter of the general store. “Bayou Storm Rising” will be presented again Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 each and available at Fad’s in Franklin, the Frame Shop in Morgan City and at www.techeland.org.
