‘Adopt A Family’ now taking contributions
St. Mary Community Action Agency is again sponsoring the Adopt A Family Program to support the underserved families in the area.
The agency is seeking sponsors for the 2012 program. This will assist 100 community families within both St. Mary and Vermillion parishes. All donations are accepted.
The agency is asking persons in St. Mary, lower St. Martin, Vermilion and all other surrounding parish areas to unite to help those families in need, especially during the holidays when they need it the most.
This is an annual event that continues to each year. Sponsorships can be provided at a minimum donation of $50 per child or $100 per family or through a combined donation with other fellow sponsors.
Each sponsored family will receive clothing, a gift per child, and a food basket. All the gifts will be provided (based on an application process demonstrating need) and presented to the families at 10 a.m. on Dec. 14 the CAA office at 1407 Barrow St. in Franklin.
Each individual or organization will be invited to present their gifts to their adopted family. The deadline date for submissions is Nov. 30. Make all checks and money orders payable to “St. Mary CAA.” Mail donations to: 1407 Barrow St., Franklin, La 70538.
